The History of the Ian Bets

When the league started in 2016 Ian decided to add an additional challenge for himself.  Each week he challenged his opponent to an additional 1 on 1 bet. During the 2017 season we appointed an IBC (Ian Bet Commissioner) and an IBCA (Ian Bet Commissioner Apprentice) who would take over the responsibility of writing the rules for each weeks bet and ensuring the punishments had been carried out.  At the end of the 2018 season, Ian decided that he had enough of doing weekly bets and stepped down from his role.  Instead of letting the Ian Bets die, the league voted to make the Ian Bets the new punishment for the last place finisher. Starting in 2019, the last place finisher from the previous season will take over the role of Ian Bet Participant. 

In 2018, the IBC SuperBet was voted on and introduced. This bet spans over the course of 2 weeks, and is randomly chosen before the start of each year. During SuperBets, the combined score between 2 games decides the winner, and the stake of the SuperBet must be higher than any normal weekly IBC.

2016 - DCR Bud Right Rimes

Week 1 - beat Shut Up JD 150-145 in the Cigar Bet

Week 3 - lost to Gluten Free Taste Buds 134-85 in the Bumper Sticker Bet

• Loser had to leave a bumper stick on his car till the end of the season

Week 4 - beat 7th Place Scooters 100-83 in the Facebook Video Bet

• Loser had to post a video to Facebook talking about how great the winner is

Week 5 - beat CDN Grass-Fed Gorillas 151-102 in the Car Window Bet

• Winner got to write anything he wanted on the Losers car

Week 6 - lost to Mile High Salute 127-107 in the Beer Bet

• Loser bought the winner a 6pack

Week 7 - lost to Roll Tide Red Chairs 158-130 in the Least Fav Food Bet

• Loser had to eat his 3 least favorite foods mixed together

Week 8 - beat Shut Up JD 162-155 in the Cigar Bet II

• Loser bought winner a 5 pack of cigars

Week 9 - beat Heinz Ketchup Handcuffs 123-113 in the Tomato Bet

• Loser got pelted by tomatoes by the whole league

Week 10 - beat Gluten Free Taste Buds 126-125 in Double or Nothing Bet

• This week cancelled out the bet from Week 3

Week 11 - lost to 7th Place Scooters 111-109 in the Aladdin Bet

• Loser had to post a video singing the boy and girl parts from "A Whole New World"

Week 12 - lost to CDN Grass-Fed Gorillas 158-130 in the Commissioner Bet

• Winner was declared official commissioner, even though neither had the power to declare themselves commissioner, so this was pointless

Week 1 - beat Gluten Free Taste Buds 144-119 in the Team Name Bet

• Winner got to name the loser's team for the season

Week 2 - beat 7th Place Scooters 150-100 in Facebook Profile Pic Bet

• Winner got to pick the losers Facebook picture

Week 3 - lost to Roll Tide Red Chairs 137-113 in the Lawn Mowing Bet

• Loser had to mow the winners grass

Week 4 - lost to Mile High Salute 118-98 in the Beer Chug Bet

• Loser had to chug a 22 oz bottle of beer

Week 5 - lost to Heinz Ketchup Handcuffs 106-83 in The Run and Chug Bet

• Loser had to run a 5K while chugging 6 beers

Week 6 - beat Shut Up JD 113-81 in the Cigar Bet III

• Loser had to buy winner a 5 pack of cigars

Week 7 - lost to CDN Grass-Fed Gorillas 128-116 in the Hot Wing Bet

• Loser had to eat 3 Megadeath wings

• Loser could listen to nothing but Jewel in his car for 1 week
